Special Campaigns
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Nash/Edgecombe Counties operates an annual fundraising campaign called, "It Just Takes One". This program is designed to increase financial donations from individuals in the community. The organization launched the local campaign to raise $50,000 in order to help touch more young people’s lives in neighborhoods in Nash and Edgecombe, support after-school programs for youth ages 5-18, and to staff current facilities.
The Phil Ford Golf Classic is an annual fund raising event where the businesses community support the local Boys & Girls Clubs through sponsorship opportunities. With the Rocky Mount native, NBA superstar and current Assistant Coach for the Charlotte Bobcats, Phil Ford along with other celebrity personalities' involvement this spectacular event is sure to be one all would enjoy. The Phil Ford Golf Classic opens with the Ambassadors' Black Tie Gala, which celebrates and recognizes Individuals, Businesses, and past Board Members (Ambassadors) who have worked tirelessly to support the Boys & Girls Clubs since its inception in 1966. The black tie gala consist of dinner, cocktails, dancing and an auction of an array of desirable items from local and regional merchants (fine jewelry, vacation packages, restaurant gift certificates, etc) as well as collectible celebrity items and memorabilia such as an autographed pictures signed by attending celebrities, autographed sports items, and much more! It promises to be a fantastic kickoff to an unforgettable experience. Business sponsors for the Phil Ford Golf Classic receive VIP credentials to attend this special event. On day two sponsor golfers and celebrities tee off for 18-championship holes at one of the local premier golf courses for a golf tournament experience of a lifetime.
