Resumes are being accepted for part time positions for the After-School Program with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nash/Edgecombe Counties, Inc. The 2010 After School Program is August 25, 2010- June 10, 2011. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 2PM-7PM. Program Assistants must be available to work between the hours of 2PM-7PM.
Unit Director
This motivated and highly administrative individual will oversee the operations of the following club location: Lucy Ann Boddie Brewer Unit
Responsibilities include: Directs/manages overall daily operations of the unit with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, strategic planning implementation, implementation supervision and training of staff, facilities management, public/community relations, partnership development, and membership administration. Advises and assists Program Assistants in the areas of volunteers, facility management, personnel issues, budget management, and programs.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. A minimum of one year work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the youth developmental theory and needs of young people. The candidate must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Program Assistant
Program Assistants are needed in all 5 Club locations: Battleboro, Rocky Mount, Nashville, Pinetops, and Princeville.
Responsibilities include: ensuring youth development principles are incorporated into programs and activities for youth, providing guidance and discipline to ensure a safe and positive environment for youth, the delivery of exciting and engaging programs
within the core program areas, and providing transportation and supervision during field trips.
Education and Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working with youth ages 5 to 18
years old in the area of youth development is required.
